West Coast Adventure (Part 9) – West Edmonton Mall

This is the final instalment of our crazy awesome West Coast Adventure. This last stop was unplanned, but a great idea. Hayden had been bothering us the whole trip to find a hotel with a pool and water slide, or a water park in general. So we surprised him by booking a night near the West Edmonton Mall and spending the day in the water park instead of going back to Calgary right away.

Pre Christmas Yurt Trip – Part 2

We woke up Sunday morning to a lovely winter scene thanks to the little bit of fresh snow that had fallen overnight. The snow was a fantastic sight because the plan was to go hike some of the trails Algonquin has to offer in the winter. Unfortunately, a couple of our favourites were closed due to bad conditions, but it worked out because that forced us to head to an awesome trail we had never hiked before! Bonjour Quebec City

Bonjour! Nous sommes arrivés à Québec City! Ok that’s the extend of my French abilities, aka Google translate helped.  We had a full day planned for Quebec City and it started early.  We knew that parking would not be cheap, or easy to find for that fact, so we headed in to the city and luckily found a spot in the garage across from the Museum of Civilization.  This location was awesome as it would place us right next to the evening fireworks, and close enough to all the main tourist attractions we wanted to see.

Hopewell Rocks Adventure

This summer, as we headed back from our Newfoundland vacation, we decided to stop and see the Hopewell Rocks in New Brunswick.  Dan and I had been there many years before and we both felt Hayden would love to see this natural phenomenon.   If you are unfamiliar with this location, it is on the Bay of Fundy where the tides are so extreme that visitors are able walk on the ocean floor during low tide, while at high tide there is 15m of water.
