Figured it was time to officially introduce my “crew”. I guess they have always been a part of my crew. We each have some personalities that come out while camping, and really each of us can take on any of these roles.
“The Brain”
When coming up with some names, it is clear that I stand out as the Brain. Even when my hubby questioned why this was Sue’s Outdoor Crew, I told him that I am the one writing the blog, I plan the trips, I organize the gear, the food, the car, the “stuff”. Hence that makes me the brain.
“The Brawn”
My hubby takes on this role of the brawn since he does have more strength (he will probably not let me forget that I am admitting to this). I usually tell him where to put the gear, to lift the cooler on our car camping trips in and out of the car, and to reach higher in the trees to hang tarps. He will be found chopping wood for the fire, lifting the heavy gear around, and completing a lot of the camp chores.
“The Comic Relief”
My son, well if you have met him there is no explanation as to why he is labelled the comic relief. He is goofy, silly, funny, loves to makes faces, and basically just has a whole bunch of fun. If you follow either of our personal accounts on Instagram, you will have a chance to see some of that silliness! The picture below is one that my hubby took on our trip to Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park, and one that I had to re-share!
There you have it. My Crew! Now, there are times where we can argue that our roles change. Sometimes it happens multiple times on a trip, even multiple times in the day. I love the fact that we change our roles and that I am not always the Brain. There is room for that Comic Relief and the Brawn to show up now and again 🙂
