I recently decided to try something a little different than our normal outdoorsy type adventures when I spotted an event on Facebook being held at a local yoga studio where you do yoga AND play with kittens. It was a fundraising event for a local animal shelter advocate called Fixed Fur Life – where we actually got our kittens from many years ago, so I was glad to help them out. They help rescue and foster animals, and provide funding to spay and neuter them to help prevent the influx of animals to local shelters.
Yoga Much?
I will be the first to admit that I knew there wouldn’t be much yoga action at this event. There is good intention to practice some moves, but the kittens won the show. We did start our session with some basic moves, great for me since I’m also not a great yogi, and then the kittens arrived! There were five in total and boy did they have a lot of energy!
Getting pictures of these quick balls of fluff was a challenge. I did my best to try to do some other yoga moves while waiting patiently for a kitten to scurry by so I could pick them up and snuggle a bit, but even that was a challenge.
Eventually the cat trapper, aka the yoga lady, would catch a kitten and bring it to anyone who wanted to hold, snuggle and take pictures with the kittens. It was very hard to not take ALL these cuties home with me.
Thank you Get Yoga for the great hour of yoga and kitten playing. I will miss these little bundles of fluff! Please make sure you spay or neuter your pets and get out there to support your local animal shelters. As I post this there were 17 kittens surrendered to our local shelter in one day!
Fun time for sure <3
