Last year around this time we headed out to Ferris Provincial Park to hike some of their trails. This park is right outside Campbellford, and we have visited many times either geocaching, biking, hiking or just checking out the water and the suspension bridge. Today we planned to hike some trails on the interior of the park.
Geocaching at Massassauga Point
Have you ever been Geocaching? Do you even know what this means? Well let me fill you in. Geocaching is like a treasure hunt. People from all over the world hide containers of various sizes, mark their location on a GPS, and then upload the coordinates to a website. Your job is to download these coordinates, find the hidden container and “claim” your treasure.
Lakeview Trail
It’s great when my parents visit and the weather cooperates. This year we were able to spend the time outside on more than one occasion. The first was taking my mom up and down the Moira River in our canoe, and today was a family event where we hiked the Lakeview Trail at Sandbanks Provincial Park.
Paddle the Moira April 2018
The canoe, she has been stored all winter, waiting, just waiting for spring to show up so she can wet her legs. Well finally it seems that spring has arrived, and with temperatures up to double digits we got her ready for her first paddle this year. This past weekend just also happens to coincide with my parents visiting so we took my mother with us for the paddle.
