As you may have guessed from the title, this blog is dedicated to my 40th birthday. For the past couple of years, we have gone camping together on my birthday since it usually falls on Labour Day weekend. However, for my 39th I left the family behind and I went on a trip with Cruising Canoes to the French River with 10 people I didn’t know, and this year I went canoe tripping with Christina. We have been wanting to do a summer canoe trip together and Labour Day weekend was our first chance. It just happen to fall on my big birthday.

Today I will go through three of my luxury pieces of gear that I bring on backcountry trips.
Food for Thought?
Food? Why yes I’ll talk about food! I love food, I eat food, it is a necessity LOL. I had recently completed a multi night solo canoe trip to Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park and thought I’d share some insights from it. I recently wrote about what gear I packed in my 60L barrel for this trip, now I will share what food I packed.
