This trip was a little different for us. This trip the boys got a head start on celebrating the last day of school along with the first day of summer. Friday was a PA day here, which means Hayden is home from school, but I am still required to be at work. That gave way for plans on having my boys get a night out on their own, and I would join them after work on Friday.
Being a Local Tourist
We live in an area that has many places and things to see and do, so with the weather looking extremely beautiful the last weekend in May, we headed out to find some local tourist locations. The decision was made to take the canoe out for a paddle down in Wellington, and well, just see what would happen after that…
Island Escape?
With the change of the seasons, school in session, and regular working hours, our outdoor adventures become limited to weekend outings. These outings now consist mainly of day trips or one nighters.
“Pint and Paddle” You Say?
Over the summer and into the fall, Cruising Canoes does a series of Pint and Paddle tours. For a small fee, you get either a kayak or canoe, paddle and PFD and the cost of your pint covered at a local establishment. The tour goes around local areas in the Quinte Region and this particular one I went on took us down the Moira River.
