When ticket sales started for the Ontario Backcountry Canoe Symposium in April 2019, it got me thinking back to August when we headed out to Kawartha Highlands for a weekend adventure. Algonquin Fall Color Chase?
Fall is such a lovely time around here to chase colors and camp in cooler and more comfortable conditions, at least in my opinion. We are definitely fonder of the cooler fall temperatures around Ontario than those hot and humid summer days. Even though those are lovely, but in short spurts. We knew that there was no way we would venture north to Algonquin on Thanksgiving weekend as the crowds tend to be…. a little crazy, so we waited for the weekend after.
Food for Thought?

I had recently completed a multi night solo canoe trip to Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park and thought I’d share some insights from it. I recently wrote about what gear I packed in my 60L barrel for this trip, now I will share what food I packed.
