Neighborhood Rocks

We are all just waiting for the time when we can be released back into the wild as they say, but for now we stay close to home and find activities that can be completed around our neighborhood. One such activity I have been doing on our evening walks is looking for decorated rocks.

Our neighborhood started an initiative where the kids have been decorating rocks and placing them around the streets for people to find. The rocks are all decorated in many different patterns and some even boast words of encouragement.

They are found all over our neighborhood next to light posts, the mailboxes, and even some are placed along the gravel trail near the river. I have seen many families with little kids searching for these rocks, and to see the joy in a little kids eye when they find one and look to see that their parents also see it, has been a highlight on my own walks and runs around the neighborhood.

These little pieces of decorated rocks have brought lots of joy to families and it shows just how much we all care about our community in that we can share some happiness with everyone.

Even if it is just a small piece of painted rock.
