Killarney Trip Part 1

When we first visited Killarney a few years ago we loved it so much that we knew we would have to go back. It’s a beautiful park, which of course means it’s also extremely popular and booking a site needs to be done well in advance. So when I happened to check last minute and saw an opening for three nights starting on a Saturday – clearly a cancellation – we jumped on it, despite the facts that we had tickets to a concert Friday night and that we would be getting back only two days before leaving for our vacation to British Columbia!

OTG Meal Review

Backcountry meals. Either you love them or hate them. I have tried a few different ones in my day with mixed reviews. But these days, I find it difficult to get meals that meet my dietary needs since I have a dairy intolerance, and most dehydrated meals have some form of dairy. There are a few that don’t, but I have not enjoyed them very much. I mean, I’ll eat them if needed, but I am always on the search for something new.

Bonnechere Caves

It’s been a while since we have visited the Bonnechere Caves in Eganville, but it is well worth the trip (maybe even a revisit in the future). This is a natural cave system that was found many years ago by some guy going down the river nearby and into the cave system by candle light. Yes… candle light. Would you venture into the depths of a cave, not knowing where you were going with only a candle to light the way?
