In December we headed to Huntsville to see a concert by Hawksley Workman, which also happened to coincide with the opening weekend for Arrowhead Provincial Park. We took advantage of this great timing and planned a day trip into Arrowhead to do some hiking and snowshoeing.

A couple of days ago, a friend of mine contacted me about taking part in the Ontario Parks First Day Hike Challenge. There was no question at all that I was in! Ontario Parks had posted the details of the challenge, whose goal is to promote healthy parks healthy people (#HPHP) and to get people outside to enjoy all that the parks have to offer on the first day of the year, on their social media sites. Basically, get out and hike some trails in a provincial park, share your adventures on social media, and tag Ontario Parks with the hashtag #FirstDayHike.

Bonjour! Nous sommes arrivés à Québec City! Ok that’s the extend of my French abilities, aka Google translate helped. We had a full day planned for Quebec City and it started early. We knew that parking would not be cheap, or easy to find for that fact, so we headed in to the city and luckily found a spot in the garage across from the Museum of Civilization. This location was awesome as it would place us right next to the evening fireworks, and close enough to all the main tourist attractions we wanted to see.
