Golden Circle, Iceland – Day 1

Iceland…

You have been on my radar since as long as I can remember. The land of Fire and Ice. Being a Geography Major, the thought of travelling to such a place as Iceland tops my list of places to go and this was the year to do it!  As a birthday present (I’m turning 40 this year), my hubby and I embarked on a 10 day trip around the island.  Come and follow along as I take you through seven areas of Iceland.

Egan Chutes Provincial Park Waterfall Hike

Over the past few years, my crew and I have been searching for waterfalls to visit in both summer and winter. There is just something about rushing water that seems to draw us in.  Over New Years, we went to two waterfalls in Algonquin Park.  Our most recent adventure has taken us to Egan Chutes Provincial Park.  This is located near Bancroft and is only open for day use purposes like hiking and snowshoeing.  There is no camping permitted in this park.

Temagami – Our First Crown Land Canoe Trip

This summer I really wanted to try somewhere new, off grid, crown land canoe camping.  Dan had another week of vacation to use, and I knew I wanted to go canoe camping….somewhere…. After some research I landed upon Temagami.  If you know this park, it is quite big, and you can travel for a long time and not cover the same area.  With this being such an unknown I continued to ask for help as to where is the best place to start.
