Ontario Winter Camping Symposium 2018

Picture 400 people in an auditorium all listening to presentations about a common topic: Winter Camping! Yes, that happened again this year with the help of organizer David Bain (and more) at the Theatre of the Arts in Waterloo.  This is the second year for the Ontario Winter Camping Symposium and I made sure to secure a ticket. There was a great line up consisting of 5 presentations, sponsors with lots of outdoor goodies ready to purchase, and lots of friends to chat with.

Hopewell Rocks Adventure

This summer, as we headed back from our Newfoundland vacation, we decided to stop and see the Hopewell Rocks in New Brunswick.  Dan and I had been there many years before and we both felt Hayden would love to see this natural phenomenon.   If you are unfamiliar with this location, it is on the Bay of Fundy where the tides are so extreme that visitors are able walk on the ocean floor during low tide, while at high tide there is 15m of water.

Wait… What?? I’m going to be 40? Part 2

The first evening of our trip had passed, bringing the first morning of my 40s, but that was OK because Christina and I had been having a great time on our trip so far and there was more fun to be had. There was some rain overnight and it was still sprinkling a little in the morning as we crawled out of our tents, but that didn’t bother us.  We had no set plans for the day, but we knew there would be more fishing!
