Figured it was time to officially introduce my “crew”. I guess they have always been a part of my crew. We each have some personalities that come out while camping, and really each of us can take on any of these roles.

Explore Gear Box (Unboxing video and details)
This past winter I had found a link online for the Explore Magazine. They are based out of BC and they were sending out gear boxes throughout the year for a subscription cost. I had caught the tail end of the Winter box, and was very interested in what I saw. 4 times a year they will send out a box full of gear, accompanied by a list of challenges that they post on their Facebook page. Canada 150 – Mine Was Memorable, Was Yours?

We had no real plans. I figured we would have the usual, “What do you want to do?” conversation this weekend. I was watching other people plan camping and canoeing trips, but we had opted to stay close to home. There are quite a few Canada Day celebration activities planned in this area so off we went Saturday morning.
