This past March break was our last time going to Myrtle Beach and hanging out with the parents. They are planning to change their winter plans in the future and we are hoping that wherever they go, we will be able to visit. It’s springtime, and that means that my parents are making their way back to Newfoundland after spending the last few months in Myrtle Beach. Since we live so far apart and don’t see each other much they stop at our place to visit on their way south and then again on their way home – not exactly a direct route, but we’re glad they do. This year, their visit coincided with the Easter weekend and since we have not spent an Easter together in 16 years, we knew that we wanted to make the day special.

Bonjour! Nous sommes arrivés à Québec City! Ok that’s the extend of my French abilities, aka Google translate helped. We had a full day planned for Quebec City and it started early. We knew that parking would not be cheap, or easy to find for that fact, so we headed in to the city and luckily found a spot in the garage across from the Museum of Civilization. This location was awesome as it would place us right next to the evening fireworks, and close enough to all the main tourist attractions we wanted to see.
This summer, as we headed back from our Newfoundland vacation, we decided to stop and see the Hopewell Rocks in New Brunswick. Dan and I had been there many years before and we both felt Hayden would love to see this natural phenomenon. If you are unfamiliar with this location, it is on the Bay of Fundy where the tides are so extreme that visitors are able walk on the ocean floor during low tide, while at high tide there is 15m of water.
