This past March break was our last time going to Myrtle Beach and hanging out with the parents. They are planning to change their winter plans in the future and we are hoping that wherever they go, we will be able to visit. We began Day 8 with a plan to find some of Iceland’s natural hot pots. Not the ones that are tubs or pools filled with the hot water from the hot springs, but the natural ones that are formed with rocks and dirt. I had found a page online that showed a map of all the hot springs, hot pots, pools etc and was determined to see at least one of the natural springs with the hopes of jumping in and testing it out.
Here we are now on the morning of Day 5! At this point in our travels we realized that we were ahead of schedule as we were not due back into Reykjavik for another 5 more days to drop off the camper and get our flight back to Canada. This meant we would plan to not only drive the Westlands as suggested by the Happy Camper guy, but we would also head for the Westfjords! This was super exciting as we would cover more than we had initially planned. For now we were covering the North Coast, waterfalls, towns, and what we were told was the “best swimming pool in Iceland”.
