Sometimes it’s hard to start a post…. this adventure was harder to start. I have been following many outdoor adventure enthusiasts for a while now, started this blog as I had the same passion, but I have been wanting something…. and it sparked with me that it was a solo trip. I have been talking about it online for quite some time, just needed to actually plan and push myself to do it. So, here it is! It is only a one-nighter….but I have a bigger trip planned for the beginning of summer.
Making Smart Decisions

Thunderboxes!
The title says it all. If you have ever been backcountry camping, whether it is canoeing or hiking or however, you have probably come across a thunderbox. What is that you say? It’s a fancy term for a bathroom in the outdoors. They are typically a wooden box made from 2 x 4’s with a lid to keep your “seat” dry.

Summer is back?
The first two weeks back at work (I work in a school), all I could think about was camping. Yes, I have gone out lots this year, but I wanted to go again. Then I received another notification from Cruising Canoes that they were hosting a 2 day fishing trip to Puzzle Lake Provincial Park. I was in! It’s the perfect time frame for me.
