We began Day 8 with a plan to find some of Iceland’s natural hot pots. Not the ones that are tubs or pools filled with the hot water from the hot springs, but the natural ones that are formed with rocks and dirt. I had found a page online that showed a map of all the hot springs, hot pots, pools etc and was determined to see at least one of the natural springs with the hopes of jumping in and testing it out.
Westfjords, Iceland – Day 6 and 7
We started day six with a lot of excitement because we were venturing to the Westfjords. This was not on our scheduled program, but we had heard it was an amazing drive and we were really excited to have the time to go. Our main question was whether we would drive clockwise or counter-clockwise. Keep reading to find out!
East Coast, Iceland – Day 4
Good morning Day 4, kinda… We were greeted with fog, and lots of it for our next section in Iceland. It really felt like we had been transported to the East Coast of Newfoundland, not the East Coast of Iceland. The plan for today was to drive the East Coast and head inland a bit to the North Coast. Breakfast was the usual oatmeal, then we opened the map to check out any symbols that might be points of interest, and hit the road.
Geocaching at Massassauga Point
Have you ever been Geocaching? Do you even know what this means? Well let me fill you in. Geocaching is like a treasure hunt. People from all over the world hide containers of various sizes, mark their location on a GPS, and then upload the coordinates to a website. Your job is to download these coordinates, find the hidden container and “claim” your treasure.
