Over the past few years, my crew and I have enjoyed going to the Winterlude activities in Ottawa. If you have never ventured to this region, it really is a must do. Even if you miss Winterlude and all that comes with it, you really need to get to the region to skate on the canal.
Egan Chutes Provincial Park Waterfall Hike
Over the past few years, my crew and I have been searching for waterfalls to visit in both summer and winter. There is just something about rushing water that seems to draw us in. Over New Years, we went to two waterfalls in Algonquin Park. Our most recent adventure has taken us to Egan Chutes Provincial Park. This is located near Bancroft and is only open for day use purposes like hiking and snowshoeing. There is no camping permitted in this park.

There are so many local conservation areas in the Quinte Region, I decided to do a little series featuring a different location in each blog post. I want to showcase just how easy it is to get outside and enjoy nature in our area. DIY Sled Review
In December, I made my own winter camping sled for an upcoming backcountry trip. I had a few people ask and comment about my DIY project and they also wanted an update on how it worked.
