A couple weeks ago I attended the Women on Water Paddling Festival (Part 1 located here) and if you have been following, this is part 2. It was now Sunday and I was continuing with the sessions and paddling fun. Today I was signed up for Kayaking play and self rescues, then a SUP tour in the afternoon.
Women on Water Festival 2018 – Part 1
This year I attended the Women on Water Festival that is hosted by Wild Women Expeditions and the Ontario Sea Kayak Center. This event sells out every year, so when I got the news that I was able to solidify a last minute cancellation I was elated. I have heard lots about this festival recently from my friend Christina, and I knew that I would enjoy it. With only a few days to pack and gather my items, I was one busy lady. The festival runs from Friday evening into Sunday afternoon. That means I had to leave right after work to make my 4+ hour drive to Parry Sound. I didn’t care because I was so excited.
First Solo Overnight
Sometimes it’s hard to start a post…. this adventure was harder to start. I have been following many outdoor adventure enthusiasts for a while now, started this blog as I had the same passion, but I have been wanting something…. and it sparked with me that it was a solo trip. I have been talking about it online for quite some time, just needed to actually plan and push myself to do it. So, here it is! It is only a one-nighter….but I have a bigger trip planned for the beginning of summer.
DIY Sled Review
In December, I made my own winter camping sled for an upcoming backcountry trip. I had a few people ask and comment about my DIY project and they also wanted an update on how it worked. I have only taken this out on one trip, but there are some modifications I would like to make on the next one. Yes, I’m going to make another one.
