Bucket Lists

Bucket lists….something I’m sure everyone has going, if not physically written down, then inside their head.  I am amazed at some of the items that I have added and checked off.  My list is more in my head right now, but debating adding a physical copy, well, electronic copy really.

One thing on my list that was added and checked off almost immediately was my running list.  I know I’ve mentioned it before, but running was something I thought I had completely given up on due to my past experiences with it in high school.  It has been recently that this sport has grown into really a passion.  This past week I took part in a trail run, dubbed the Fat Ass run.  Yup. Fat Ass! Really just a play on words, but I liked it.  Running in the woods, beautiful weather, sometimes all by yourself, is amazing. No words can really describe the feelings you get running in such conditions.  It is also nice to share this experience with coworkers and friends.  This would be my second race at a distance of 10 km.  I felt so wonderful I could have kept going.
I’ve still got running items on my list, such as a half-marathon.  This is 21.2 km distance, which right now would take me about two and a half hours or more to complete. I’m planning on completing this item next October for the County Marathon in Picton, Ontario.  There are many people, friends, and coworkers that also are part of this race and I’m looking forward to doing this.
There are many other items on my list; many of them include travelling to various places around the world.  I believe much of that list is going to have to wait until retirement, or close to that time. Most of these require some amount of cash, of which would need to be saved. UNLESS…. I win the lottery. LOL. Some other items include seeing my son graduate both high school and a secondary education system of some sort. I do not really care where, just would like to see him successful in life really.
This blog is also one of those items that is checked and double checked.  My hatred for writing as a student has faded slightly as I have gotten older, thus the blog.  I find this way easier to write than the scripted precise answers that seemed to be always required for English essays.  I know my sister would probably tear apart my blogs for grammar, or something, but I speak, well write, from the heart.  So, what is on your bucket list? Does this make you think about adding things? I hope so.
