Outdoor Therapy at Presquille

Over the weekend I was needing to get outside and go for a hike. In the low of the season when I do not have any winter camping plans or outdoor shows to attend, I feel the need to go outside getting stronger.

I decided to head out on Sunday morning to Presqu’ile Provincial Park, which is only a 30 minute drive from my place. Presqu’ile has multiple hikes and sometimes the lake creates some really cool features like ice volcanoes.

Unfortunately no such features were found today as I stopped and checked out Lake Ontario before heading to my hike. I also decided to stop by the lighthouse to see if there might be some ice features there, but alas, none there either.

From there I headed to Jobes’ Woods Trail. I have hiked this trail a few times before, so it was nice to just wander in the woods. Today it was really quiet and all I could hear were my footsteps in the snow and the birds singing in the trees. Every now and again I would see a squirrel run across the trail.

Getting out for this hike was just what I needed. Breathing in the nice cool winter air truly does some great things. I find my mind becomes clearer and I can focus more on the tasks that are needing completion back at home.

Do you also enjoy getting outside for some outdoor therapy? Let me know in the comments below.
