Reykjavik and Area, Iceland – Day 9 and 10

This is the end of our journey. We had circled the island of Iceland and spent a day in Reykjavik, followed by a morning of touring around near our Happy Camper drop off location. We woke on day 9 to a beautiful bright and sunny day, perfect weather for walking the city of Reykjavik and seeing the sights.  I had done some research about some popular places to visit and we had a plan for the day.  As everything seemed to have a cost, we were lucky to find out that there are places in the city that offer free parking.  That was a price we were both happy with and we agreed that walking a few extra steps would not be an issue.

Westlands, Iceland – Day 8

We began Day 8 with a plan to find some of Iceland’s natural hot pots.  Not the ones that are tubs or pools filled with the hot water from the hot springs, but the natural ones that are formed with rocks and dirt.  I had found a page online that showed a map of all the hot springs, hot pots, pools etc and was determined to see at least one of the natural springs with the hopes of jumping in and testing it out.

North Coast, Iceland – Day 5

For now we were covering the North Coast, waterfalls, towns, and what we were told was the “best swimming pool in Iceland”.

East Coast, Iceland – Day 4

Good morning Day 4, kinda… We were greeted with fog, and lots of it for our next section in Iceland.  It really felt like we had been transported to the East Coast of Newfoundland, not the East Coast of Iceland.  The plan for today was to drive the East Coast and head inland a bit to the North Coast. Breakfast was the usual oatmeal, then we opened the map to check out any symbols that might be points of interest, and hit the road.
