Over the past few years, my crew and I have enjoyed going to the Winterlude activities in Ottawa. If you have never ventured to this region, it really is a must do. Even if you miss Winterlude and all that comes with it, you really need to get to the region to skate on the canal.

There are so many local conservation areas in the Quinte Region, I decided to do a little series featuring a different location in each blog post. I want to showcase just how easy it is to get outside and enjoy nature in our area. DIY Sled Review
In December, I made my own winter camping sled for an upcoming backcountry trip. I had a few people ask and comment about my DIY project and they also wanted an update on how it worked. Last year I convinced my crew to go winter camping in a yurt at Algonquin Provincial Park during the new year celebrations. This year we did a repeat and spent 3 nights at Mew Lake. I will give you some tips and tricks on how to enjoy winter camping in a yurt and a little bit of what it is like during this time of year.
